MURDER IS EASY

 A novel by Agatha Christie

·         Summary

The story begins with Luke Fitzwilliam way back to London from east. He was is train and in his railway coach when he met an old lady named Lavonia Pinkerton. They were easy to talk to each other. The women talked about her attention to report some murder happened in Wychwood,  her own town. She explain about mysterious person who had a strange gaze, some victim and next victim. Luke just listened and didn’t put any serious attention on that. When they got in London they take their own way. The next day Luke read a newspaper that Mrs. Pinkerton died by car accident. A week later, newspaper write about the death of dr. Humblemby, the person who Mrs. Pinkerton had predicted as a next victim. That situation pushed Luke to go to Wychwood   and investigate this strange murder.

Luke come to Wychwood  as a writer who tried to write about local superstitious. His undercover was helped by Jimmy Lorrimer whose cousin is in Wychwood .He lives there for a moment he investigated the case. Bridget Conway is Jimmy’s cousin who lived in Lord Whitfield’s house. Ms. Conway and Lord  Whitfield welcomed  Luke with pleasure. Lord  Whitfield and Ms. Conway were engaged  and  then, the investigation began.

The next day Luke tried to walk around and surf for information which he needed. Ms. Conway helped him a lot by give the information of the people and the situation there. By the time they investigated together Ms. Conway recognize that Luke is the police. In the next investigation they share the knowledge and information easier between them.

Luke realized that his effort is nothing if he still used his undercover, so he started to open his undercover to some people in the town. It was difficult to him to suspect the person because of some any different murder, unknown motif and victim, then he found a dead locked. He suspected a few people that could be a murderer, but he still have no evidence to prove his assumption. Ms Conway helped him a lot in the process of collected the evidences, but they were angry to each other because of their feeling one to the other. They finally expressed their love to each other and planned to marry.

Closes to the edge of the investigation Luke was so convinced that Ellsworthy,  the person who was estimated using black magic as a murderer. The assumption is quickly disappear when he faced a direct experience with Lord  Whitfield who has a connection to all the murder. As soon as Luke can, he reported his assumption and the result of his investigation to the official police in London and fortunately his friend is a commissaries there.  Luke did everything fast, he proclaim his relation with Ms. Conway to Lord  Whitfield, they broke the engaged in the one hand and it made Lord  Whitfield angry. Because they have suspected Lord  Whitfield as the murderer, they were afraid too much and fast go from his house.

Ms. Honoria Wayflete is Lord Whitfield’s ex fiancée. He is a great smart and generous old woman in that small city. He want to help Luke and Conway fix the murder, she also suspected Lord  Whitfield as a murderer. Unfortunately a day they went out from Lord Whitfield house, when Conway take a rest in Ms. Wayflete’s house she pretended to kill Ms Conway. She tried to put some poison to conway’s tea and wanted to bring her at a far field. She did not drink the tea. She followed Ms. Wayflete’s play and hear all the murder which she had done. Then Conway woke up and fought back after that Luke come, paralyzed the real murderer. Who can imagine that old love can blinded every people, that the broken heart old women can do terrible thing like this.

In the end of the story Ms Conway and Mr. Fitzwiliam could life happily, the real murderer was catched and the murderer in Wychwood stopped in that time.

ü  Luke Fitzwilliam, who the brave and good police try to investigated the unusual murder in Wychwood .

ü  Lord  Whitfield is a wealth man in Wychwood  who praise himself a lot, big and short guy.

ü  Bridget Conway is a beautiful smart young girl who life in Lord Whitfield’s house as a assistance, help luke investigated the murder, Jimmy’s cousin and the one who love Luke.

ü  Honoria Wayflente is Lord  Whitfield’s ex fiancé, old smart and clever woman who pretended to kill many people  and plan revenge to Lord  Whitfield who had bump her up in the past by guarantee all her murder.

Place : London, railway coach, all etire Wychwood , Lord  Whitfield’s house.

Time: there is no specific setting of time in that novel, there are just simple time indicator like, luch time, the next day, a week after, midsummer, in the evening, morning.
